The new edition of the PREMIERE competition aims to emphasize the brilliance and light of jewels, highlighting quality, purity and craftsmanship. An idea that blends contemporary design with the traditional heritage of jewelry. The key elements for the design can be highly polished materials, crystals, stones or mirrored elements that amplify the effect of light. Faceted textures, unexpected cuts or mobile elements that change appearance with movement.
Beppe Angiolini, Art Director of OROAREZZO and President of the Jury explains: "Time is a constantly changing reflection and the jewel becomes its witness... Every gleam on its surface tells a story, the past imprinted in the details, the present that lives in the light of the moment, the future that is refracted in the reflections yet to be discovered.
In every reflection an emotion, in every light a story where the jewels not only shine but tell the infinite beauty that multiplies in every mirror.
A glamorous theme that plays on the contrast between fashion and the brilliance of reflections... but also a theme on the art of reflection, exploring how jewels can "reflect" not only light, but also emotions, personality, and style.
The concept of "mirror of time" is based on the idea that jewels are not only precious objects but also custodians of memory. Each reflection is a fragment of life."
The PREMIERE competition is the historic OROAREZZO event that celebrates every year the best Italian goldsmiths and the original creations developed by the companies in the competition, starting from a shared theme, always new and different between tradition and contemporaneity, curated by Beppe Angiolini, Art Director of OROAREZZO and President of the Jury. A praise to the goldsmith production excellences that participate to the event.
The jury, made up of insiders and experts from the jewelery, fashion, and PR sectors, presents awards for the best items, which are then exhibited during OROAREZZO in an ad-hoc context to enhance their characteristics and creative value.
The 34th edition of the contest also puts the spotlight on the next generation of goldsmiths thanks to the TALENTS category, introduced in 2023 and reserved for young students from Italian goldsmith schools and designers under 30.
The winner will be given the opportunity to create his own jewel, free of charge, thanks to the collaboration of partner companies of the territory.
With the TALENTS category, OROAREZZO wishes to support the expression and creativity of young talents, promoting direct contact with the world of jewelery production and the opportunities the sector can offer to young people who intend to undertake a career path in the sector goldsmith-jeweler.
