Arezzo, 21 March 2012   Even though it is a difficult moment for the goldsmith sector, the 33rd edition of OroArezzo holds good prospects for continuing the satisfactory route taken in 2010 thanks to the new management, which made possible for the event to become a leading event in the world trade fairs in the field.Exhibitions like Oroarezzo - said Andrea Sereni, President of Arezzo Fairs and Trade Shows – do not only help "Made in Italy" but also offer support to the development of local businesses, by encouraging the internationalization of the production system, which is the primary goal for companies in this sector that would struggle to achieve it individually. The fair, therefore, remains a benchmark that allows Italian Jewelry industry to maintain a stable position in a global market driven by new formidable competitors such as China and Turkey. The exhibition has reaffirmed itself as an ideal marketing instrument - continues Sereni - to strengthen and promote the activities of Italian goldsmith. It is necessary to encourage investments in support of Arezzo’s fairgrounds to guarantee the continuity of a project that currently appears as a real, and perhaps the only chance to stay in touch with the international market." "Events like OroArezzo, where there is a strong participation of foreign buyers, can be decisive in such a period - says Raul Barbieri, Director of Arezzo Fairs and Trade Shows - to start new business. This year 485 exhibiting companies have chosen to actively take part in OroArezzo, to seize the opportunities that the fair offers." Such opportunities and benefits have been brought to light very clearly today, thanks to the presentation of the results of a survey on a representative sample of about 1000 big buyers (of which almost 80% were wholesalers) from 82 countries. The survey aimed to reconstruct those purchase dynamics and reasons that determine the fate of many local businesses. These are important data that help to improve Arezzo Fairs and Trade Shows actions and strategies to promote synergy between Italian buyers and companies. Italian Companies, according to results, have all it takes to meet the demands of buyers. According to most respondents, design (95.3% response rate) is the most important element in the evaluation of a product, even though price does not have to be underestimated (88.4%), as much as technological innovation (55.8%). Customs duties (27.9%) and brand (25.6%), however, seem to have less relevance. "These are very comforting data; - emphasizes Raul Barbieri - More than half of respondents attributed high importance to jewelry / Italian goldsmith. The research in design, which we can define as the common denominator of Italian jewelry companies, and the lack of attention to brand policies make OroArezzo a very attractive event that mostly consists of "unbranded" product companies”. Among other supply markets, along with the Italian market, 60% of buyers indicate Turkish / Middle East market and China / Hong Kong market. According to 88, 4% of respondents, price is a major obstacle not only for buyers, but also for Italian companies, which are struggling to counter the offer of the Asian markets. Buyers also suggest that Italian companies produce lighter products, with less gold (58.5%), or allow facilitations such as the splitting of payments (19.5% of respondents). In fact, it is important to keep in mind that the economic crisis has interested the whole supply chain and buyers, even those from traditionally richest markets, which have strongly reduced their purchases in Italy and other markets (68.3% of total). Finally, here is a comforting figure for Arezzo Fairs and Trade Shows: almost 50% of surveyed buyers purchase almost exclusively at fairs, whereas another 20% of them buys more than 70% of their annual supply at fairs. This is a further confirmation of the importance that initiatives such as OroArezzo have on the international commercial landscape.

Arezzo, 21 March 2012   The 33rd OroArezzo edition, the International goldsmith, silversmith and jewelery exhibition that has been presented this morning at Arezzo Fairs & Trade Show will start on Saturday 24th of March at 10:30. This year’s edition is bound to be rich in novelties, such as the opening of the renovated areas of Arezzo Fairs & Trade Show, the Museum "Oro d'Autore", intended to host the eponymous collection of Contemporary Artistic Goldsmith that was inaugurated in 1987 and celebrates this year its 25th anniversary. Moreover, after the successful Gold Up and Golden Hat-titude collections, the museum "Oro d'Autore" welcomes a new jewel, Past For-Ward, the new initiative that is the result of the collaboration between Vogue Jewel and Vogue Accessory, and Borbonese: versatile jewelry that enrich glamorous shoes and handbags, making them unique and valuable. Another element of novelty is the brand-new pavilion, called Bi – Jewel. It is entirely dedicated to the emerging sector of high-level bijoux, where those companies that, along with traditional jewelry, are now turning their expertise to the production of trendy accessories closely related to the fashion industry, find a new market. This is the perfect opportunity inaugurate the new Congress Centre Auditorium, which will host SHOW OROAREZZO, the evening reception for exhibitors, press and buyers at 18.30. During the evening, there will be the show of the finalist jewels of Premiere Competition 2012. At the end of the evening the 9 winners will be announced and awarded. For those who want to see all the jewels in competition, they should not miss the shows that will take place at 12:00, 13:30 and 15:30 on Saturday 24th March. The exhibition will give great visibility to the 485 exhibiting companies, which will have the chance to meet international buyers from over 60 countries, along with retail operators and a delegation of the Italian Chamber of Fashion Buyers, sign of the ever-closer union between goldsmith and fashion. There will also be a vast area dedicated to machinery and production techniques, where people will be allowed to visit the Innovation Room, a space where exhibitor companies will present their new machineries, technologies and patents to the operators. This represents a unique opportunity to have an exclusive preview on innovations and new production applications. This year’s edition of Oroarezzo, as usual, will be enhanced by a large number of dynamic side events. It is worth remembering Coins & Medals, the Dono Trentacoste, a collection of Italian coins and trials of coins of rare beauty, donated to the Museum of Archaeology of Florence by the great sculptor Domenico Trentacoste (1859-1933) and a selection of medals modeled by contemporary sculptor Enzo Scatragli, native of Castiglione Fiorentino (Arezzo). It is definitely unmissable the presentation of "A Jewel of a Film", organized by the Ministry of Economic Development in cooperation with the National Council of Gold Manufacturers (CNA, Confartigianato, and Confapi Federorafi), Anica and Arezzo Fairs and Trade Shows. It is a proposal for unconventional marketing for companies, the so-called film product placement, which could be an attractive opportunity for the Italian jewelry companies: advertising their brand or line of products by having them worn by stars of the silver screen. Arezzo, 23rd February 2012 – Oroarezzo, the exhibition dedicated to silversmith and jewelry, is bound to start on the 24th of March. Again this year, Oroarezzo confirms its strongly international character that makes it an excellent occasion for Italian producers to contact traders from all over the world. There will be numerous international buyers, over 250, coming from the main markets, both traditional and emerging ones.
A powerful incoming action – said Andrea Sereni, President of Arezzo Fairs and Trade Shows – realized by Arezzo Fairs and Trade Shows in collaboration with Arezzo’s Chamber of Commerce and Toscana Promozione. Such intense work confirms once again the international vocation of our Fair and draws attention to one of the major economic district of this territory”.

It will be a great opportunity for the companies taking part in the exhibition, for they will meet traders from well-established markets for Made-in Italy: 10 traders from Dubai, 25 from the United States, and many others from Hong Kong and Continental Europe. But the organization has also strongly focused on new and growing realities, as well as on returning ones: 50 operators from the Middle East, and two large delegations from France and Russia. There will also be many representatives from Northern and Eastern Europe, which, although not so relevant today, are two of the most interesting opportunities for the sector. This year’s edition will see the participation of 3 buyers from Kazakhstan, in other words all the operators “that matter” in such a rich market. And then Israel, with 9 delegates, Brazil, Mexico and Argentina, as evidence of the attention to the new and emerging markets.

Arezzo, 11 February 2012 – As in past editions, along with over 500 Italian gold manufacturers, Oroarezzo, the International Goldsmith, Silversmith and Jewelry Exhibition, hosts Premiere, a glamorous and spectacular event that is going to award the creativity, commitment and enthusiasm of Italian jewelry companies. This contest, which has taken place in each past edition for the past 22 years, offers a preview of original and exclusive gems. It provides an insight into the future of jewelry, thanks to a careful study of fashion trends.

Ideas, concepts and visions, developed through innovative and refined techniques, will be shown during the opening event of the Congress Centre of Arezzo Fairs & Trade Show on the night of March 24 (opening day of Oroarezzo) in the presence of authorities, exhibitors, buyers and the press.
